I'm not worried about it. I'm not worried about any of this.

A wild [REDACTED] approaches. It is October, and that means one thing  to the people of this household. Harry Potter Marathon, you say? Okay, then I guess it means two things .  Me, when someone says it's October. While we can all agree that the Prisoner of Azkaban is the best book and  the best movie, October typically means it's time for me to come up out of the basement and spend time with my family. The second thing mentioned above actually happened as I was in the early stages of typing out this post - my son was born! I was originally drumming all this up to basically be a "don't worry, but I'll be AFK for a while". But I guess he had other plans. Both Mom and Baby Oscar are doing great, and we even got to come home from the hospital a day early. Certainly a departure from the chaos that was a month in the NICU when Nora was born. While there's nothing official to announce for other projects yet, just know that I am a creature of habit, which mean...

The Real Treasure was the friends we made along the way.

I was told that it's now August. Howdy there, Chronaria-teers! No? Well, damn. We'll keep workshopping it. I'm a bit delayed in getting this post out because there are a fair few "balls in the air", as they say in Chess. Like all of you, life for me never seems to slow down. With baby Miller #2 drawing ever nearer, baby Miller #1 seems dead-set on learning how to play JRPGs with her wannabe-weeb Dad. After the long-haul of 148 hours, I finally managed to achieve the platinum trophy in Persona 5: Royal. And boy do I have to say - what a truly fantastic experience it is. I don't need to "glaze" the game any more - see my last news post if you want the scoop. Outside of that, there have been a lot of moving parts, and I'm excited to talk about some of them. We're so back. As I'm writing this, I've played a good 8-or-so hours of the Battlefield 6 Beta. I gotta say - it's gonna be real hard to get anything accomplished when this game d...

This time, it's Persona(l).

It's nice to see some joy left in the world. Hey there - welcome to June!! This past week has been an exciting time for both the players and developers of video games. Why? 'Cuz Summer Games Fest and Unreal Fest, of course! We don't get true E3 any more, as all of the big players in the business just have their own separate presentations. But the excitement is still real. I've got to hand it to Xbox - they had a killer presentation. The new ROG Xbox Ally looks like a really cool way to take your Xbox library on the go without relying on streaming. The only real questions that remain are: How much will it cost? Will MAKRANA be playable on it? Will GTA 6 be playable on it at higher than 8fps? Can it run Crysis? The answers to these questions, and more, will all be revealed in time.  But the REAL exciting news from the Xbox showcase was the official reveal of Persona 4: Revival. For those who've never had the joy of experiencing it, Persona 4 was an Atlus-made JRPG o...

Out of the (Assassin's Creed) Shadows

Sometimes, you just need to stab a dude. Not sure how, but apparently it's May already. Seems like 2027 is right around the corner, then. Work on the Unreal Engine rebuild of MAKRANA continues - more on that below. But here's what I really want to know: What are you playing right now? It has been a pretty great year for releases, and it seems like folks out there are having a pretty good time with things that are coming out. Personally, I've been spending some much-needed time actually PLAYING games, and remembering why I got into this world to begin with. Assassins' Creed Shadows has been my main game of choice, and it's pretty great. Despite being mired in controversy, it seems that the game is doing quite well and is being enjoyed by many. You love to see it. What an absolutely gorgeous game. Outside of that, I've been in "dabble" mode. I complete my 3 daily bot matches in PUBG, still hoping I'll get that elusive trophy for 1,000 kills. I'...

Things are getting a bit... UNREAL these days.

Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before. It's been awhile since I've done a YouTube video update, so I thought that would be fun. You can find it here if you like. For those of you who prefer to "read", then boy do I have a meaty one for you. Let's get started. It's been quiet on this blog for the last few weeks because I have been *checks notes* "rebuilding the game in Unreal Engine". As of this writing, I have been at it for a month, and the Main Menu functionality is either back to where it was in Unity, or even better. I'm learning to stop putting promises on things like release dates, as my home/work/life/game design balance never really seems to allow me to get things done as timely as I'd like. If you're yelling at your screen right now, I get you. It's frustrating, and I hope to some day find enough success to be able to do this Game Design gig full time. Until that glorious day comes, you're just going to have to h...

Chronarian Games Website (Finally) Launches!! If you're reading this, then I can only surmise that I probably know you in real life. Unless, of course, the year is 2035 and I'm astoundingly wealthy at the age of almost-47. Either way, I'm super glad that you're here. For the uninitiated, my name is Matt Miller. I have spent a lot of my life nose-deep into the world of video games. As I grew to enjoy playing them more, I also embraced the world around them - the news, the speculation, the console-warring (GO PLAYSTATION!), and even how they're developed. This last one, in particular, is most-likely why we're having this little chat. When I decided that it was time to lay down the "I'm gonna be a rockstar" dream and had to decide what I'd like to do with my life, I landed on the idea of Game Development.  "Now Matt, that's a really dumb idea in 2025". I know, and you're absolutely right. But for me, this dream started in a time ...
